Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Tele Intermediate/Stepdown night shift position requiring 2+ years of experience and an active IL RN license.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting in a Level 2 Trauma facility
- Tele Intermediate (Stepdown) unit with 26 beds
- Common diagnoses include CHF, COVID pneumonia, Afib with RVR, tachy/brady syndrome, and syncope
- Patient ratios of 1:4 or 1:5 with tech support at 1:9
- Central tele monitoring with medications including Cardizem, Lasix, renal dopamine, and nitro
- No vents, but Bipap, Cpap, and High Flow/Vapotherm used
- 24/7 Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy support available; nursing does not mix meds
- EPIC EMR used
- 12-hour night shifts, 7pm-7:30am
- No block scheduling, though facility will attempt to accommodate consecutive night shifts
- Every other weekend required (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
- Every other holiday coverage required
- No on-call requirements
- Floating expected, maintaining the same 1:5 ratio on assigned unit
- Hospitalist coverage 7a-5p, followed by APN and e-hospitalist support
Requirements
- Active IL RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA) required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- BSN not required
- EPIC EMR experience preferred
Additional Information
- Charge nurse also carries a patient assignment
- Orientation includes 1 hospital orientation shift and 2 unit orientation shifts (one day, one night)
- No specific scrub color required; clinicians may wear their own scrubs
- Local rate available for clinicians with a permanent address within 50 miles of the facility
- COVID vaccination not required
- Candidates must be able to produce a negative drug screen as OSF is a drug-free campus
