Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Stepdown/PCU position requiring a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience and an active IN or compact RN license.

Details

• 26-bed Stepdown Intermediate Care unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes cardiac, neuro/stroke, dialysis, post-operative, respiratory, and general medical-surgical overflow cases
• Provides telemetry monitoring and frequent assessment for medically complex patients
• Manages patients with central lines, PICC lines, IV drips, oxygen therapy, and CPAP/BiPAP as appropriate
• Night shift schedule from 18:00-06:30
• 13-week assignment
• May float to other med/surg units

Requirements

• Active IN or compact RN license required
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• ACLS certification (AHA) required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant nursing experience required
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation required
• Documentation experience in electronic medical record (EMR) systems required
• Current license and primary source verification (Nursys) within 30 days prior to start required

Additional Information

• Perform comprehensive assessments including respiratory, cardiovascular, neurological, and hemodynamic status
• Administer medications safely, including IV medications, per physician orders and hospital policy
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, case management, and other disciplines to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment plan, medications, and discharge instructions
• Recognize early signs of patient deterioration and activate rapid response or escalate care as needed
• Adhere to infection prevention protocols, fall precautions, and patient safety standards
• Local candidates accepted, though a radius rule may apply that affects pay rate
