Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring Level I Trauma Center and Epic experience with an active MI license.
Details
- Work in the Operating Room department of a teaching hospital that is a Level I Trauma Center
- Primarily adult patient population with a 1:1 patient ratio
- Uses Epic charting system
- Shift options include Day/Evening rotator (7a-7p, 9a-9p, 11a-11p) or straight evenings (3x12 hours)
- Weekend and weeknight call required in 8-hour blocks (7a-3p, 3p-11p, 11p-7a)
- Up to 4 weeknight calls and 2 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
- No floating required
Requirements
- Active MI RN license required in-hand at time of consideration (compact license not accepted)
- Current certifications: BLS and CAC
- Minimum 1 year of Operating Room experience required
- General OR and Trauma experience required
- Level I Trauma Center experience required
- Teaching hospital experience required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Flu vaccination required with no exemptions permitted (allergy-free option available for those with allergies)
Additional Information
- Provide perioperative nursing care across General OR, Trauma, and specialty surgical services
- Exposure to a wide range of surgical specialties including plastics, orthopedics, general surgery, urology, robotics, bariatrics, and ENT procedures
- Work within a Level I Trauma Center environment handling complex trauma cases
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Two supervisory references required (charge nurse references not accepted)
- No RTO permitted during the first week of the contract
- Candidates previously employed by the client facility within the last 12 months are not eligible to apply
- Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 1-year separation
- Traveler pairs are not accepted for this position
