Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift assignment requiring 1 year of experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

  • Medical Surgical unit with remote telemetry capability and diverse medical surgical diagnoses
  • 38-bed unit with an average daily census of 33 and a 1:6 patient ratio
  • Patient population ranges from adolescents to geriatrics
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
  • Every other weekend required unless otherwise specified
  • Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
  • No on-call requirements
  • Uses Epic for charting, along with Pyxis and SBAR communication systems

Requirements

  • Active GA or Compact RN license required
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent experience required
  • 1:6 patient ratio experience required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Skilled in cardiac monitoring and emergency response protocols
  • Experience with Rapid Response/Code teams
  • Proficient in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
  • Respiratory care skills including nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, and oxygen administration
  • Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use
  • First-time travelers are accepted

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care on a fast-paced Med/Surg unit, including cardiac monitoring and respiratory support
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with all RTO finalized at time of submission
  • No RTO permitted during orientation week or the Spring Break blackout period (April 4th-12th)
  • Holiday coverage required based on how many major holidays fall within the assignment period (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day)
  • Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
  • Previous Piedmont employees (perm, per diem, or FCSS) must be separated from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
  • Returning travelers who were previously unable to complete an assignment must complete one successful assignment outside of Piedmont before reapplying
  • Compliance must be completed on time to avoid a two-week delay due to bi-weekly orientation scheduling
