Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring MA RN licensure, AWHONN Intermediate certification, and flexibility to float between L&D and Postpartum units.
Details
- Work within the Labor and Delivery unit as part of a maternity float pool
- Float assignments include both Labor & Delivery and Postpartum units
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
- 36 hours per week with every other weekend and holiday required
- Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations; must be able to work all 7 days of the week
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active MA RN license (temporary/conditional license accepted at time of offer, with permanent license application required within 48 hours of signing)
- 3 years of L&D experience strongly preferred; will consider 1-2+ years with travel experience
- AWHONN Intermediate certification or above required
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NRP
- Epic EMR experience required
- Must reside within 200 miles for local candidate consideration
- Must complete and pass a medication exam and a telemetry exam at orientation (1 attempt each; failure results in immediate contract cancellation)
- First-time travelers considered if coming from a teaching hospital with required teaching hospital experience
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive labor and delivery care including fetal monitoring, high-risk delivery assistance, and C-section circulation/recovery support
- Administer medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and other antepartum/postpartum treatments
- Perform neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and thermoregulation
- Assist with antepartum procedures such as sterile vaginal exams and oxytocin challenge tests
- Support postpartum care including fundus/lochia assessment and wound care
- Multiple study materials provided during compliance process and facility-directed instruction (FDI)
- Up to 14 days of RTO may be submitted for review, with no RTO permitted during the first week of assignment
- Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
- Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate within a 200-mile radius
