Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an LTAC ICU night shift position requiring 2 years of ICU experience and NC or compact RN licensure.
Details
- LTAC ICU unit within a long-term acute care hospital setting
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Float within scope required, including between like units, the hospital, or sister campus depending on booking
- Uses Epic charting system
- 66 staffed bed facility
Requirements
- Active RN license (NC or Compact) currently in hand - pending license not accepted
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required, LTAC ICU experience required
- Travel nursing experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Skilled in IV therapy, central line, peripheral line, and PICC line care/management
- Skilled in starting and maintaining IVs and titrating various IV drips
- Experience with complex wound care, infection prevention, and isolation precautions/PPE
- Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Experience with multiple modes of mechanical ventilation (CV, CMV, A/C, SIMV, PS, PC, IRV +/- PEEP)
- Skilled in ETT and NT suctioning, tracheostomy care/management, and ventilator weaning
- Must pass an Advanced EKG exam as part of compliance
- SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- At least 1 supervisor reference required
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care in a long-term acute care ICU setting
- Manage complex ventilator patients including weaning and home vent training
- Royal blue and white scrub color required
- Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the main campus to be eligible for this position
- RTO requests limited to a maximum of 4 days, with only 1 holiday approved for time off
- Holiday coverage required except for the single approved holiday
- Travelers who previously worked at this facility must have been gone for at least 1 year to return
- Extensions limited to twice for night shift assignments; after reaching the extension limit, a 6-month gap is required before reapplying
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
