Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of ICU experience for a night shift position at a Level III trauma teaching hospital.

Details

• Respiratory therapy department at a short-term acute care, Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital
• Works with adult and pediatric ICU patient populations
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM
• Weekend rotation required every other weekend
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs, including between like units and sister campus depending on booking
• No on-call requirement
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• State or compact RRT license required if applicable, pending license not accepted
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must be comfortable working with both adult and pediatric ICU patients
• At least 1 supervisor reference required for consideration
• Legal name required on all documentation; aliases or nicknames not permitted
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• No background or license hits within the last year will be approved

Additional Information

• Deliver respiratory therapy services to critically ill adult and pediatric patients in ICU settings
• Solid black or black and white scrub color required
• Weekend and holiday coverage required as part of scheduled shifts
• Any callout for scheduled shifts will require a makeup shift as deemed necessary by the department
• Maximum of 4 days RTO allowed with only 1 holiday approved
• First-time travelers may be considered
• Local candidates are not accepted within a 50-mile radius of the main campus
• Previous employees must have been gone for 1 year to return as a traveler
• Extension limit of 2 contracts for day shift or 3 contracts for night shift, with a 6-month waiting period before reapplying as a traveler after reaching the limit
