Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of ICU experience for a night shift position at a Level III trauma teaching hospital.
Details
- Respiratory therapy department at a short-term acute care, Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital
- Works with adult and pediatric ICU patient populations
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM
- Weekend rotation required every other weekend
- Floating within scope required to meet facility needs, including between like units and sister campus depending on booking
- No on-call requirement
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- State or compact RRT license required if applicable, pending license not accepted
- Epic EMR experience required
- Must be comfortable working with both adult and pediatric ICU patients
- At least 1 supervisor reference required for consideration
- Legal name required on all documentation; aliases or nicknames not permitted
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- No background or license hits within the last year will be approved
Additional Information
- Deliver respiratory therapy services to critically ill adult and pediatric patients in ICU settings
- Solid black or black and white scrub color required
- Weekend and holiday coverage required as part of scheduled shifts
- Any callout for scheduled shifts will require a makeup shift as deemed necessary by the department
- Maximum of 4 days RTO allowed with only 1 holiday approved
- First-time travelers may be considered
- Local candidates are not accepted within a 50-mile radius of the main campus
- Previous employees must have been gone for 1 year to return as a traveler
- Extension limit of 2 contracts for day shift or 3 contracts for night shift, with a 6-month waiting period before reapplying as a traveler after reaching the limit
