Description

American Traveler is hiring a RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring an active AK RN license and at least 1 year of experience.

Details

• Work in the MS/Tele unit of an acute care hospital
• Med/Surg/Oncology patient population
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours)
• Weekend coverage required, potentially more frequent than every other weekend
• May float to like units within scope of practice
• No on-call responsibilities
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active AK RN license required in hand for offer
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required, 2 years preferred
• Oncology experience and chemo administration experience preferred but not required
• Skills required include cardiac monitoring, emergency response, use of rapid response/code teams, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
• Respiratory care skills required including nasal cannula use, non-invasive airway management, and oxygen administration
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and proper PPE use required
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

• Assignment is at a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma facility recognized as a top hospital in Alaska
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Parking is free
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• May be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be considered
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler
• All time off requests must be submitted upfront during the application process
