Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring CA RN licensure, on-call availability, and at least 1 year of PACU experience.
Details
- Work in the PACU department of an acute care hospital located beachside
- Support Phase I PACU and Phase II Recovery inpatient care
- Day shift schedule (3x12 hours) with variable start times between 0900-1100, Monday through Friday
- On-call responsibilities required, averaging 6 shifts over a six-week schedule including weeknights (2330-0800) and 12-hour weekend shifts (0800-2000 or 2000-0800)
- No floating required between like units
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
- Minimum 1 year of PACU experience required
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, arterial line management, and dysrhythmia recognition/management
- Experience with Central Venous Pressure (CVP) monitoring and care of ventilated patients
- Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring experience
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty required
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide post-anesthesia recovery care to inpatient surgical patients across Phase I and Phase II recovery
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius, though local candidates may be accepted at a lower bill rate
- Former permanent employees may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they are not within 50 miles of the facility
- RTO requests must be submitted upfront at time of submission, as post-offer scheduling changes may not be accommodated
- Navy blue scrubs required for RNs; scrubs provided for L&D/OR/Cath Lab staff
- Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
