Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Rehab unit position requiring 1 year of acute inpatient rehab experience and BLS certification.

Details

• Work in the Rehab unit of a Magnet, Teaching, Level I Trauma hospital
• Patient population is primarily trauma rehabilitation, comprised of approximately one-third traumatic spinal cord injury, one-third traumatic brain injury, and one-third stroke patients
• Unit also specializes in burn patients and patients with two or more amputations
• Cares for up to 2 ventilator-dependent patients at a time, typically with a weaning goal
• Includes 4 medical-surgical beds prioritized for acute care and flap patients
• Patient ratio is 1:3 on days and 1:5 on nights
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 0700-1930
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within scope to meet facility needs
• Block scheduling not accommodated
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• CRRN certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of experience required, acute inpatient rehab work history preferred
• LTAC work history may also be considered
• Level I Trauma experience preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Skills in IV therapy, ventilator patient care, tracheostomy management, and feeding tube care
• Experience with wound care and pressure ulcer assessment/prevention
• Experience with lift/transfer devices

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to trauma rehabilitation patients including spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, and stroke populations
• Solid color scrubs accepted, with light blue scrubs also provided on the unit
• COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Prior UW staff must have an 18-month separation before returning as a traveler
• RTO should be kept to a minimum and cannot be requested during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate with no radius restriction
