Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Critical Care Float Pool position at a teaching hospital, requiring an active OH or compact RN license and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

• Critical Care Float Pool role within a teaching hospital setting
• Floats to a variety of ICUs based on staffing and patient acuity, including Neuro ICU, Surgical ICUs, Medical ICUs (MICU x2), Cardiology/Diagnostics, CVICU, SICU, MICU, and NCCU
• Float assignments are limited to units of equivalent or lower acuity
• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Proficiency with Epic EMR required
• Required skills: IV starts, telemetry, and ventilator management
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required, with at least one from a manager/director or supervisor and the second from a charge RN or higher; coworker references not accepted

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing support across multiple ICU units based on facility staffing needs and patient acuity
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements promptly upon signing contract due to strict compliance timelines
• Locals accepted at the same rate
• Former employees eligible for a travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more
• Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible for travel assignments
• RTO must be requested and built into the contract at time of submission, limited to 7 days or less
