Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor and Delivery RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring TX or compact RN licensure and fetal monitoring certification.

• Hospital-based Labor and Delivery unit
• 13-week travel assignment
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 4 shifts per 6-week schedule
• Full-time position

Requirements

• Active RN license in TX or compact
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred
• BSN preferred
• Current BLS certification required (AHA only)
• Current ACLS certification required (AHA only)
• Current NRP certification required
• Current AWHONN Intermediate FHM or NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) certification required
• Perinatal RN Residency or recent Perinatal setting experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Administer medications and treatments while monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
• Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers
• Newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire
• New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member with completion of organizational and Perinatal Services-specific competency validations
• Completion of annual competency verification requirements required
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius to qualify for travel rate
• Previous CHRISTUS Health employees must be separated for at least 6 months prior to starting a travel assignment
