Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring fetal monitoring certification and NRP certification.
Details
- Work in the Labor and Delivery department of a hospital setting
- Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- 4 shifts per 6-week schedule
- 13-week assignment length
- Full-time work type
Requirements
- Active RN license (TX or Compact) currently in hand
- Current certifications: BLS (AHA only), NRP, and ACLS (AHA only)
- Current certification required in AWHONN Intermediate FHM or NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM)
- 1 year of experience in Labor and Delivery or related nursing specialty preferred
- BSN preferred
- Perinatal RN Residency or recent perinatal setting experience preferred
- Must not have worked at any CHRISTUS facility (non-travel) within the past 6 months
Additional Information
- Provide nursing care utilizing the full nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Administer medications and treatments while monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
- Provide patient and family education and identify relevant resources
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
- Newly hired RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire
- New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member and must complete organizational and perinatal-specific competency validations
- Annual competency verification requirements must be completed
- Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility
