Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN Circulator for an Operating Room position requiring an active TN or compact license and prior circulator experience.

Details

• , provOR, including general OR, ambulatory OR, and trauma cases
• Supports a wide range of surgical specialties including vascular, gynecology, orthopedic, general surgery, podiatry, urology, ENT, and robotics
• Utilizes robotic surgical systems such as Da Vinci Xi and Mako
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM
• Requires night and weekend call rotation with all circulators, 1-2 days per week
• Weekend requirement of 1 every 4-6 weeks
• Uses Allscripts charting system

Requirements

• Active RN license (TN or Compact) required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of RN circulator experience required
• PACU experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience within the last 12 months required
• Must pass Epic competency exam prior to starting assignment
• Experience with universal protocol (time out) procedures, infection control, and cardiac monitoring
• Skilled in starting peripheral IVs and urinary bladder catheterization
• Must be clean-shaven if fit testing for respirator use is required

Additional Information

• Circulate for a variety of surgical procedures including vascular, gynecologic, orthopedic, general, podiatric, urologic, ENT, and robotic surgeries
• Support surgical teams with emergency management protocols including code response, fire safety, and malignant hyperthermia response
• Assist with specimen handling and labeling, and ensure radiation and laser safety compliance
• Floating required unless otherwise specified
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Return travelers may be considered pending staffing approval
• All requested RTO must be disclosed prior to starting the assignment
• Clinician interview required before placement
