Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ER Holding position requiring ER experience and a 1:4 patient ratio.

Details

• Work in the ER Holding unit of a teaching hospital
• Patient population includes pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Staffing ratio of 1:4
• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
• Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• ER experience required, with ER observation/holding or MS/Tele experience also required
• MS/Tele, Tele, or PCU/Stepdown experience acceptable
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role and the second from a Charge RN; coworker references not accepted

Additional Information

• Manage telemetry and dysrhythmia monitoring, PCU/stepdown level care, and renal failure management
• Administer IV insulin and heparin protocols, cardiac and vasoactive drips with titration, and blood products
• Provide tracheostomy management, non-invasive airway management (CPAP/BIPAP, oxygen), and wound care/wound vac
• Utilize rapid response team resources as needed
• Locals accepted at the same rate
• First-time travelers are not being considered for this position
• Former employees eligible for a travel assignment after 6+ months away from the facility
• Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at this health system
• RTO must be submitted with application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract, either by driving to an in-state location or completing a mailed fingerprinting packet
