Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med-Surg/Telemetry Float Pool position requiring a VA or compact RN license and Epic experience.
Details
- , to units:4–6 based on unit acuity
- Floats among adult Med-Surg/Telemetry units units, ED Holding, and IMC caring for Med-Surg/Tele level patients
- Nurses call before each shift for unit assignment and report directly to the assigned unit
- Participates in unit safety huddle and standard workflows upon arrival
- Occasional mid-shift reassignments may occur based on operational needs
- Cares for adult patients with diagnoses including general medical-surgical, telemetry, neurology, stroke, orthopedics/trauma, elective joint and spine procedures, skeletal traction, and external fixation
- 12-hour night shifts from 7p-7a
- 36 hours per week
- 13-week assignment length
- Scheduled every other weekend with rotating holidays (eve and day of holiday)
Requirements
- Active VA or compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIHSS certification preferred, required upon hire during orientation
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care RN experience in a medical-surgical/telemetry setting
- Experience caring for diverse patient populations and adapting to multiple clinical environments strongly preferred
- Epic EMR experience required

- Provide direct patient care to adult medical-surgical and telemetry patients across multiple unit types
- Float pool role requiring flexibility to work in varied clinical environments each shift
