Description
American Traveler is hiring a Labor and Delivery RN for a night shift assignment requiring a compact RN license and at least 1 year of L&D experience.
Details
- Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a short-term acute care hospital
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:00)
- Every other or every third weekend required
- Patient ratios of 1:1 for labor and 3:1 for postpartum
- May float between units and sister facilities based on unit needs and skill set
- No on-call requirements
- Uses Epic for charting
Requirements
- Active RN license (compact license must be in hand at time of submission)
- Current certifications: BLS and NRP required; AWHONN Advanced and STABLE preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Must have a vehicle for this assignment
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
- Must disclose any prior work history with the health system, including permanent, travel, or registry/per-diem roles
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive labor and delivery nursing care including antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum management
- Skills utilized may include fetal monitoring, cesarean section circulation, hemorrhage/shock management, and high-risk delivery assistance
- Care for patients with conditions such as pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes, placenta previa, and other high-risk pregnancy complications
- Support newborn care including APGAR scoring, neonatal resuscitation, and newborn assessments
- Travelers may be required to float to sister facilities within the region, with incentive pay and mileage reimbursement offered for certain float locations
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility may be accepted at a local bill rate
- Scrub color is flexible for most units; scrubs are provided for OR, Critical Care, ED, and Maternal Child units
- No parking fees at this facility
- Minimal RTO requests are accommodated and must be submitted upfront during the application process
- Must be willing to commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
