Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 3 years of ER experience and multiple specialty certifications.

Details

• Combined adult/pediatric general Emergency Department setting
• Level II Trauma Center that is also STEMI and Stroke certified
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift schedule with alternating 3x12 and 4x12 hour shifts (18:00-06:00) on a 36/48 hour alternating pattern
• Epic charting system experience preferred

Requirements

• or compact RN license required
• Minimum 3 years of ER experience required (2 years accepted if from a high volume/trauma facility)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS
• Preferred certifications: CPI, ENPC, MAB
• Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Skilled in emergency medications including IV vasopressors and continuous IV sedation
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG interpretation
• Experience managing pediatric and adult emergency conditions including respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric cases
• Experience with shock/trauma cases including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations
• Skilled in triage and isolation precautions/PPE protocols

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a wide range of adult and pediatric conditions including trauma, cardiac, neurological, respiratory, and psychiatric emergencies
• Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with automatic cancellation for any positive result
• Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility and local candidates are not accepted
• Must be available to complete required lab work within 72 hours of accepting the offer
• License must be in-hand prior to start date
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
