Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele position on a 26-bed surgical telemetry unit requiring an active KY or compact RN license and BLS/ACLS certification.

Details

• 26-bed surgical telemetry unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population consists of individuals needing surgery or recovering from recent surgery
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:4
• Day shift schedule, 7a-7p, 3x12 (36 hours per week)
• Weekend and holiday rotation required

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or Compact)
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• No prior nursing experience required, though previous experience is preferred
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including comprehensive assessments, treatment implementation, and care coordination for surgical telemetry patients
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities including patient and family education
• Collaborate with inter-professional care team members and delegate tasks appropriately to other staff
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities such as monitoring patient falls, pressure ulcers, and CAUTIs
• Promote a positive, healing environment through evidence-based nursing practices
