Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Sonographer with 2+ years of adult and pediatric cardiac sonography experience, including transesophageal and stress echo, for a 13-week assignment.
Details
- Echocardiography department within a hospital setting
- Adult, geriatric, and pediatric cardiac patient populations, inpatient and outpatient
- Performs complete echocardiographic studies including transesophageal and stress echo procedures
- Uses Echo Information Management System and Epic for charting
- Mon-Fri schedule, either 7:15 AM-3:45 PM or 8:30 AM-5 PM
- Potential on-call coverage weeknights and weekends (5 PM-7 AM) based on department needs
- Available for 24-hour call with a 30-minute response time as needed
- 13-week assignment
Requirements
- Associate's degree or graduate of a CAAHEP accredited sonography program required
- RDCS (ARDMS) or RCS (CCI) certification required
- BLS certification required (AHA or American Red Cross)
- License required if applicable
- 2 years of adult and pediatric cardiac sonography experience including transesophageal and stress echo
- Outreach services experience helpful
- Knowledge of cardiac pathophysiology, diagnostic procedures, and patient care procedures
- Proficient in sterile procedures, isolation precautions, and radiation/infectious hazard safety
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to tolerate frequent walking, standing, pushing, pulling, and reaching above shoulder level
- Good visual acuity and ability to hear at ordinary conversation level
Additional Information
- Functions independently using critical thinking and problem-solving to obtain comprehensive echocardiograms
- Collaborates with Lead and Advanced Cardiac Sonographers, Echocardiographers, and physicians on interpretation of findings
- Assists in orientation, training, and education of trainees, students, and visitors in Cardiovascular Services
- Coverage expectations include stress lab, stress echo lab, outreach, weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed
- Demonstrates flexibility in learning new equipment, imaging specialties, and procedures
- COVID vaccination and booster required for eligibility
