Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ICU Float Pool position requiring NC or compact RN licensure and at least one year of nursing experience.

Details

• Hospital-based ICU Float Pool position within the Inpatient Float Pool at a medical center
• Floats across all ICU units as needed, including Surgical, Neuro, Medicine, Cardiac, Cardiovascular, and the Burn Center
• May also float to stepdown units as needed
• Patient ratios generally 1:1 to a maximum of 1:3 in ICU settings and 1:3 in stepdown units
• Day shift schedule from 7:00am to 7:00pm
• 36 hours per week across three 12-hour shifts
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required
• No on-call responsibilities

Requirements

• Active RN license in North Carolina or compact license required
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• ACLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum of one year of nursing experience required
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing school required
• BSN or MSN from an accredited nursing school preferred

Additional Information

• Deliver competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards as part of a float team
• Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process across multiple ICU and stepdown units
• Report to and are accountable to the Nurse Manager/Director
• Perform bedside point of care testing as required for patient care plans
• Participate in patient education, discharge planning, and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Contribute to unit goals and performance improvement activities
• Promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment
