Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position on a 25-bed Acute Care Nephrology and Cardiology Unit, requiring an active NC or compact RN license and at least one year of nursing experience.

Details

• Work on a 25-bed Acute Care Nephrology and Cardiology unit within a hospital setting
• Care for patients with End Stage Renal Disease, post renal or heart transplant, chest pain pre- and post-cardiac cath, pacemaker and AICD placement, and autoimmune or connective tissue disorders
• Patient ratio of 1 to 5
• Day shift schedule from 7:00am to 7:00pm
• Scheduled for 36 hours per week across 3 days
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required
• No on-call responsibilities

Requirements

• Active RN license in North Carolina or compact license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum of one year of nursing experience required
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing school required
• BSN or MSN preferred

Additional Information

• Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
• Perform bedside point of care testing as required by the patient care plan
• Assess patient and family learning needs and provide relevant patient education
• Identify expected patient outcomes and participate in evaluation of care plans
• Assess and anticipate discharge planning needs for patients and families
• Prioritize and organize care for patients with complex needs
• Participate in unit performance improvement activities and professional growth goals
• Promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment
