Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a night shift assignment requiring NJ or compact RN license and cardiac telemetry experience.

Details

• Work in the Telemetry unit of a hospital setting
• Cardiac telemetry patient population
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7p-7a)
• Floating required to like units within scope
• Weekend requirement of every 3rd weekend (Fri, Sat, Sun)
• 1 holiday coverage required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active NJ or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS and NIHSS required, ACLS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of experience required, 2 years of specialty experience preferred
• Cardiac telemetry experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and heparin protocols
• Experience managing cardiac drips (no titration)
• Valid professional references and copies of certifications required

Additional Information

• Provide cardiac telemetry nursing care including remote monitoring and emergency response to dysrhythmias
• Manage respiratory care including chest tubes, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy care
• Care for neurological/psychiatric patients including CVA, seizure disorders, and traumatic brain injury
• Manage genitourinary/renal patients including continuous bladder irrigation
• Provide gastrointestinal care including feeding tube management
• Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Experience with wound care/wound vac and pacemaker management preferred
• Support pre/post cardiac catheterization patients
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• First-time travelers accepted
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at a local rate differential
• RTO must be submitted at time of consideration and no additional time off can be accommodated after
