Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring telemetry experience and an active OH or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a hospital setting
• Cares for patients requiring cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and step-down level care
• Day shift schedule with 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM), 3x per week
• Every other weekend required
• Epic charting system preferred

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Previous telemetry experience required
• Experience with IV insulin protocols and insulin drips
• Strong cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation and management skills
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care
• Experience with oxygen administration and nasal cannula
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required, with at least one from a Manager/Director or Supervisor and the second acceptable from a Charge RN (no coworker references)

Additional Information

• Provide cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and dysrhythmia interpretation and management for PCU patients
• Utilize Rapid Response and Code teams as needed
• Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line management
• Complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements urgently upon signing contract to avoid credentialing delays
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• RTO must be submitted with application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once away from the facility for 6 months or more
• Current employees of the health system are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at any location within the system
