Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Home Health/Hospice position requiring an active SC or compact RN license and personal transportation for home visits.

Details

• Home health and hospice clinical setting covering the Tri-County Area with specific zip code coverage to be determined
• Provides skilled nursing services to patients in their homes
• Schedule is 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday, with no weekends or after-hours call required
• 40 hours per week across 5 days
• Uses Cerner EMR for charting
• Must have own reliable transportation to travel to patient homes in the community

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or current compact/multi-state RN license from a recognized NCSBN Compact State (must not be a permanent resident of SC)
• Current AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider certification
• Valid driver's license required
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• One year of professional nursing experience in an acute care setting preferred
• Home health experience desired
• Comprehensive physical assessment skills and ability to implement the nursing process and teaching/learning principles
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work with minimal daily supervision while performing interdependent practice in the field

Additional Information

• Plan, provide, supervise, and coordinate care for patients with a variety of injuries, diseases, and compromised health states
• Collaborate with patients, families, other healthcare professionals, community agencies, and agency personnel
• Work involves frequent standing, walking, and lifting/moving patients, with intermittent lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs
• Requires frequent driving and physical demands including reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and hand/finger dexterity
• Exposure to blood, body fluids, tissue, infectious materials, and other conditions common to community healthcare delivery
• Must be able to work under stressful conditions, deadlines, or irregular hours as needed
• Travelers may float to a sister hospital nearby
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility to be eligible
• Travelers may remain on assignment for up to one calendar year from the initial start date, after which a 30-60 day break is required before returning to a new assignment
