Description

American Traveler is hiring a Medical/Surgical Tele RN for a 9-week hospital assignment requiring DC RN licensure, Cerner experience, and prior Med Tele acute care experience.

Details

  • Work on a Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
  • Unit has 16 patients with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6
  • Shift schedule consists of three 12-hour day shifts per week
  • 36 hours per week over a 9-week assignment
  • Requires use of the Cerner EMR system

Requirements

  • Active RN license in DC required prior to start
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA only)
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
  • Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program required
  • BSN highly desired
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Minimum 1 year of Med Tele acute care inpatient experience required
  • Prior work experience in a US hospital in the specialty area required
  • Must complete a Telemetry rhythm interpretation test prior to start
  • Cerner EMR experience required

Additional Information

  • Deliver competent, age-appropriate patient care across the lifespan
  • Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments, including review of systems, with appropriate documentation
  • Complete admission assessments within established timeframes according to policy and procedure
  • Determine appropriate nursing needs for assigned patients based on assessment findings
  • Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility
  • Two manager or supervisor references preferred, verifying experience within the past 12 months, with at least one from the most recent employer
