Description
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with a Master's degree and hospital or long-term care experience for a 13-week assignment on a 4-day work week schedule.
Details
- Setting includes 90% outpatient and 10% inpatient physical therapy services
- Collaborates with speech therapists and other rehabilitation staff to achieve optimal patient outcomes
- Schedule consists of 32-36 hours per week over a 4-day work week
- Shifts are 8 or 9 hours per day
Requirements
- Master's degree from an accredited physical therapy program required
- Experience working directly with patients in a long-term care or hospital setting required
- Current Physical Therapist state license required if applicable
- Current BLS certification required, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
- Strong documentation and verbal communication skills required
- Ability to provide age-appropriate care to the patient population served
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include consulting with patients to assess physical condition, diagnosing movement dysfunction, and developing individualized treatment plans
- Provides hands-on therapy such as massage and therapeutic exercises to promote healing and reduce pain
- Maintains detailed patient records and reports progress to providers, family members, and the care team
- Communicates with patients and families with diverse developmental and sociocultural backgrounds
- Collaborates closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members
- Participates in in-services, continuing education, and departmental staff meetings
- Contributes to peer performance reviews as requested by supervisors
