Description
American Traveler seeks an Inpatient Speech-Language Pathologist for a Rehab unit requiring 1+ year of experience and a Kansas SLP license, with first-time travelers welcome.
Details
- Inpatient Rehab unit within an acute care hospital setting
- Adult patient population with dysphagia, voice, and communication disorders
- Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- Epic charting system experience required
- May be required to float to like units within scope based on facility needs
Requirements
- Valid Kansas SLP license required in hand at time of submission (license required if applicable)
- Current BLS certification
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an SLP required
- Experience with dysphagia management, bedside swallow evaluations, and modified barium swallow studies
- Familiarity with augmentative and alternative communication devices
- Knowledge of standardized evaluation tools such as WAB, CELF, PICA, and BIMS/CPS for SNF settings
- National certification not required
Additional Information
- Provide evaluation, treatment, and management of dysphagia, voice, and communication disorders
- Conduct bedside swallow evaluations and modified barium swallow studies
- Utilize adaptive equipment such as communication boards, memory aids, and Passy Muir valves for trach/vent patients
- Perform patient and family education on therapy goals and techniques
- Complete documentation including assessments, evaluations, and discharge summaries
- First-time travelers will be considered for this role
- Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
- Former staff must have a 1-year gap before returning as a traveler
- No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
