Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ICU position requiring Trauma Level I and teaching hospital experience with complex cardiac and critical care skills.

Requirements
- Active RN license (Missouri or compact) required, with both Kansas and Missouri or compact license in hand at time of consideration due to potential floating between facilities
- Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS and TNCC preferred
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required, including a full year of in-specialty experience within the past 12 months with no employment gap greater than 90 days
- Trauma Level I hospital experience required
- Teaching hospital experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Experience with complex cardiac care including CABG, TAVR, valve repair/replacement, LVAD/RVAD, Impella, and IABP preferred
- Experience with CRRT/CVVHD required
- Experience managing ventilated patients, tracheostomy care, and HFNC required
- Experience with arterial, central, and PICC line management required
- Experience with continuous IV sedation, vasoactive and cardiac drip titration required
- Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
- Physical ability to perform direct patient care duties in a high-acuity ICU setting
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to complex ICU patients, including STEMI, complex heart failure, post-code, and complex medical patients
- Care for cardiac patients with device support such as Impella and IABP, and LVAD patients at least 1 year post-implant
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Regular floating between departments, units, and facilities may be required based on facility needs
- Local candidates within a 50-mile radius are not accepted for this position
- Maximum RTO of 7 days, with all time-off requests finalized at time of consideration and no changes permitted afterward
- Returning staff must have a 3-month break in service with 18 months tenure, and prior permanent employees of BJC or Saint Luke's must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Two professional references required, including one supervisor-level and one charge RN, both from within the past year
