Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position requiring floating to MS/Tele and a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience.

Details

• ICU unit within a short-term acute care, teaching hospital with Level IV trauma designation
• Patient ratios: ICU 1:1-2, MS/Tele 1:4-5
• Works within a flex pool with regular floating to MS/Tele and ICU units based on facility needs
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 or 4x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Standard med/surg and telemetry equipment used
• Liko lifts available in most patient rooms
• Charting completed in Cerner

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted AZ RN license or valid compact license required (pending accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required; 3 years preferred
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• ICU/PCU experience preferred; strong MS/Tele experience also considered
• Level II or III trauma facility experience preferred for ICU candidates
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Skills needed include IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, ventilator management, cardiac drip titration, and dysrhythmia management
• Neuro and trauma experience preferred, including CVA/stroke management, ICP monitoring, and post-neurosurgery care

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in the ICU with regular floating to MS/Tele units based on census and skill needs
• Floating may extend to nearby affiliate hospitals depending on facility needs
• Candidates must be comfortable floating without restrictions
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Must comply with facility quality and patient safety standards, including medication administration protocols (BCMA)
• Holiday coverage required for 2 of the following: New Year's Day, Memorial Day Weekend, Independence Day Weekend, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• RTO requests subject to unit manager approval; no time off permitted during the first week of assignment due to orientation
• Blocked scheduling may be considered depending on unit needs
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
