Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring at least 2 years of ER experience and multiple specialty certifications.
Details
- Work in the Emergency Department of a general hospital setting treating a combined adult and pediatric population
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Rotating evening shifts (3x12 hours) between 1p-1a and 3p-3a
- Epic charting system preferred
Requirements
- Active RN license (MO or Compact) currently in hand
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS
- SANE certification preferred, with completion available onsite if needed
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- Skilled in emergency care across pediatrics, psychiatric, respiratory, neurological, and orthopedic presentations
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, arterial line management, and blood product administration
- Experience with BiPAP/CPAP, ventilator care, chest tube management, and ABG interpretation preferred
- Experience with continuous IV sedation, paralytics, and vasopressors preferred
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG acquisition
- Experience in triage and isolation precautions/PPE
Additional Information
- Provide emergency nursing care across a broad range of adult and pediatric conditions including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric emergencies
- Experience in a Level I or Level II Trauma Center and STEMI-certified facility preferred
- Skilled management of shock/trauma cases including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations preferred
- Experience identifying and reporting neglect or abuse
- Experience managing violent behavior and psychiatric holds
- Two professional references required for consideration
- Copy of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
