Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring at least 2 years of ER experience and multiple specialty certifications.

Details

• Work in the Emergency Department of a general hospital setting treating a combined adult and pediatric population
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Rotating evening shifts (3x12 hours) between 1p-1a and 3p-3a
• Epic charting system preferred

Requirements

• Active RN license (MO or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS
• SANE certification preferred, with completion available onsite if needed
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Skilled in emergency care across pediatrics, psychiatric, respiratory, neurological, and orthopedic presentations
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, arterial line management, and blood product administration
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP, ventilator care, chest tube management, and ABG interpretation preferred
• Experience with continuous IV sedation, paralytics, and vasopressors preferred
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG acquisition
• Experience in triage and isolation precautions/PPE

Additional Information

• Provide emergency nursing care across a broad range of adult and pediatric conditions including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric emergencies
• Experience in a Level I or Level II Trauma Center and STEMI-certified facility preferred
• Skilled management of shock/trauma cases including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations preferred
• Experience identifying and reporting neglect or abuse
• Experience managing violent behavior and psychiatric holds
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Copy of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
