Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Oncology unit position requiring 1 year of experience, Epic proficiency, and ONS/ONCC certification.
Details
- Work in the Oncology unit of a hospital setting
- Care for patients with various cancer diagnoses including breast, lung, colorectal, blood, and other cancers
- Patient ratio of 1:7
- Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- No weekend requirement
- No float requirement
- No call requirement
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active LA RN license or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and ONS/ONCC
- Preferred certification: OCN
- Minimum 1 year of oncology nursing experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Skilled in IV therapy, port access and management, central line/PICC line care, and infusion pump management
- Experience administering chemotherapy, biotherapy, and related medications preferred
- Experience with blood and blood product administration and coagulation factor administration
- Skilled in phlebotomy and pain management including PCA pump management
- Prior travel nursing experience required
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care to an oncology population including chemotherapy and biotherapy administration
- Offer psychosocial support including patient and family education
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Strict maximum RTO of 5 days allowed during the assignment
- Must reside within a 75-mile radius to qualify for the travel rate; candidates within this radius are considered local
- Former permanent staff at the health system must have separated from employment for at least 1 year before being eligible to travel
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
