Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of critical care experience and Level I Trauma exposure for a day shift position at a Magnet teaching hospital.
Details
- including Neurodiagnostics/Respiratory Care Services
- Unit setting includes BPICU, SICU, MICU and NSICU
- Patient population is primarily adult with a small pediatric population
- Cares for complex trauma and burn patients, both medically and neurologically complicated
- High volume of tracheostomy and spinal cord injury patients
- Sees a fair amount of complex sleep disordered breathing cases
- Busy ED with ECLS transfers
- Uses Epic EMR system
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- No floating required
- Open to block scheduling
Requirements
- Active RRT credential and WA state license required (license required if applicable)
- BLS certification required
- ACLS, NRP and PALS certifications preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- Critical care experience within the last 12 months required
- Level I Trauma experience preferred
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Cough Assist/MIE and LP/LPV experience required
- Experience with adult trauma, burns, and adult ICU patients required
- Skilled in vent management, oxygen therapy, and patient monitoring required
- Pediatric experience preferred, training available for qualified candidates
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory care for critically ill adult trauma, burn, and neurologically complex patients
- Manage ventilator support, airway management, and pulmonary hygiene for ICU patients
- Perform tracheostomy care and management for a high volume of trach patients
- Assist with ECLS/ECMO protocols and transfers from a busy Emergency Department
- Work within a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital environment
- First-time travelers accepted
- Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate with no radius restriction
- Minimal RTO accommodated, with no time off approved during the first two weeks of assignment
- Prior UW staff must have an 18-month separation before returning as a travel clinician
- Scrubs may be any solid color, with light blue scrubs also provided for the unit
- COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
