Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an Emergency Department position requiring PA or compact RN licensure and ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications.

Details

• Work in the Emergency Department of a community hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Holiday coverage required

Requirements

• Active PA RN license or compact RN license in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and management of dysrhythmias
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central line care/management
• Experience with IV vasopressors and medication administration
• Respiratory skills including BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
• Knowledge of isolation precautions/PPE and triage
• One supervisory reference from within the past year required for consideration

Additional Information

• Must complete PA fingerprinting and ChildLine clearance within 48 hours of signing contract
• PA fingerprints must be completed within the state of PA
• Lab work must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract
• Candidates who previously held permanent or per diem employment at this health system must have been separated for at least 18 months before returning as a traveler
