Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift position requiring 1-2 years of experience and Epic charting experience.

Details

• Respiratory and Neuro Diagnostics unit setting
• Adult critical care, emergency department, and pediatric work settings
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 18:45-7:15)
• Uses Epic charting system
• Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations available
• Must be able to work all 7 days

Requirements

• MA RRT license required if applicable
• BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications required
• ACLS certification preferred
• 1-2 years of respiratory therapy experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Experience with ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Experience with airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and suctioning
• Experience drawing and interpreting arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Experience with medication delivery systems including MDI and nebulizer setup
• Experience caring for patients with ARDS, aspiration, COVID, cystic fibrosis, and pneumonia
• Neonatal/pediatric respiratory care experience preferred, including capillary and umbilical blood gases
• Two professional references required for consideration, with one from a Nurse Manager or higher

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care across adult critical care, emergency department, and pediatric populations
• Perform chest physiotherapy, pulmonary hygiene, and tracheostomy care/management
• Complete a Pass/Fail EKG test as part of orientation requirements
• Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius at the same bill rate
• Candidates must have a 12-month separation from the health system if previously employed there
• Up to 14 days of requested time off may be submitted for review, with no time off allowed during the first week of the assignment
