Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN - PACU with acute post-surgical/perianesthesia experience for a 13-week assignment requiring flexibility to float between units.
Details
- Hospital-based PACU/perianesthesia unit setting
- Serves patients ranging from adolescents to geriatric (ages 14-100+) undergoing a wide range of surgical specialties including ENT, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Plastics, Urology, Gynecology, EP/Cardiac Cath/IR, Urogynecology, Oculoplastics, Vascular, and Ophthalmology
- Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts, Tuesday through Friday from 0900-1930
- Requires flexibility to transition between units during the shift for break coverage
- Uses Epic EMR
- May be required to float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals
Requirements
- Active OR license (Standard or Compact); pending license accepted if application has been submitted to the board
- BSN required
- AHA BLS certification required (traditional AHA only; RQI not accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of post-surgical care experience in a high-acuity medical facility, or 1 year of ICU/PACU/Emergency Department experience
- Epic charting experience required
- Two manager or supervisor references from within the last 24 months required (Charge RN references not accepted)
- Must provide last seven years of work history including city, state, dates of employment, and PTO details
- COVID vaccination proof required with no exemptions accepted
- Must achieve a score of 85% or higher on Relias exams
- Must pass comprehensive background check with no license or background hits accepted
Additional Information
- Provide perianesthesia and post-surgical recovery care across a variety of surgical specialties
- Requires flexibility to work between multiple units and provide break coverage as operational needs dictate
- Refusal to float as requested may result in contract cancellation
- Accepts local candidates at the same pay rate with no mile radius restriction
- RTO must be submitted upfront and cannot exceed 2 weeks
- Former OHSU employees or previous travelers at OHSU must be gone at least 6 months before returning, and must provide a reference from their previous OHSU manager
- 13-week minimum contract length, with longer contracts considered if of interest to the candidate
