Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Long Term Care unit requiring WI or compact RN licensure and at least 1 year of elderly care experience.

Details

• Work in a 70-bed nursing home (majority private rooms) attached to a hospital, post-acute care setting
• LTC/SNF unit caring for dementia, frail, elderly, and rehabilitation patients
• RN to patient ratio of 1:20, LPN 1:20, CNA 1:8
• Perform clinical skills including IV therapy, titratable drips, catheters, and ostomy care
• Day shift, 12-hour blocks, scheduled 8-week assignment
• Every other weekend required unless otherwise specified
• Floating required
• No on-call responsibilities
• DON, Charge Nurse, and House Supervisor support available
• Physician availability after hours
• Respiratory Therapy on-site 24/7
• On-site pharmacy with medication dispensing system
• Interdisciplinary team includes Therapy, Administration, Social Work, Activities, Dietary, and Housekeeping
• Uses an EMR charting system (Cerner, transitioning to Epic)

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license required
• Current BLS (AHA) certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Elderly care experience required
• 2 professional references required, including 1 from a supervisor and 1 from a peer or supervisor

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include charting, assessments, charge duties, and medication administration
• Must be available for at least half of the holidays during the assignment
• Solid color scrubs required, clean and professional appearance expected
• Clinicians must clock in and out at the facility
• Candidates residing within 80 miles of the facility are considered local and receive a reduced pay rate
• Former facility employees must have an end date at least 6 months prior to consideration
