Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab RN with at least one year of cath lab or rad tech experience for a 13-week acute care assignment requiring a WV or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a Cardiac Cath Lab unit within an acute care hospital setting
• Two suites/labs performing an average of 5-10 cases per day
• Patient population includes diagnostic left and right heart caths, PCI, IABP, Impella, temporary pacemaker, TCAR, EVAR, EKOS, AIF, IVC filters, infusaports, and permacaths
• Vascular surgeon procedures performed in cath lab include filter placements and venograms
• RNs circulate, sedate patients, and complete documentation in the Cath Pre/Post Recovery area
• Uses Siemens cath lab software and equipment
• EPIC EMR used for charting
• Schedule consists of three 12-hour day shifts per week
• Rotating on-call required up to seven days per 4-week schedule, including one week of Monday 7AM to following Monday 7AM on-call and rotational weekend/holiday call
• Call response time requirement of 30 minutes
• 24/7 on-call cardiologist coverage
• No floating required, though additional hours may be available in other units for qualified staff
• Works alongside a Director, Coordinator, Charge Nurse, and Rad Techs

Requirements

• Active WV or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Prior Cath Lab or Rad Tech experience required
• BSN not required
• Must be comfortable with mandatory on-call and standby requirements

Additional Information

• Surgical attire provided; lead apparel not provided
• Orientation includes general hospital orientation, nursing orientation, and department computer training for up to one week or 36 hours
• EKOS experience preferred but training is available
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates within this radius are not eligible for travel assignments
• Travelers who previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before reapplying
• Travelers are limited to working within WVU facilities for no longer than one cumulative year before requiring a 2-year break
