Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU position in a fast-paced ambulatory surgery center, requiring 2+ years of PACU experience and a PA or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a fast-paced, outpatient ambulatory surgery center
• PACU unit supporting Phase I PACU, Phase II Recovery, and Pre-Post care
• Heavy ophthalmology caseload including cataract extraction and local pain management
• Orthopedic case exposure including total joint replacement, rotator cuff/ACL repair, and carpal tunnel release
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM with variable hours depending on daily schedule
• No on-call requirement
• No weekend requirement
• No floating requirement

Requirements

• Active RN license (PA or compact) required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• PALS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of PACU experience required
• Experience in Phase I PACU, Phase II Recovery, and Pre-Post care required
• Proficiency in starting and maintaining IVs required
• Orthopedic surgery experience (total joint replacement, rotator cuff/ACL repair, carpal tunnel release) a plus
• Valid references and copies of certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide pre- and post-operative care including patient assessment, discharge instructions, medication reconciliation, and follow-up phone calls
• Perform pre-op education and administer pre-op medications as needed
• Manage pain including narcotics/opioid analgesics administration
• Perform circulation checks and airway assessments
• Scrubs are provided
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• RTO must be submitted at time of application; RTO requests after submission will not be accepted
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at a different rate
