Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring 2 years of LDU experience and AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification.

Details

• Work in the Labor and Delivery unit (707) of a hospital setting
• Unit includes 4 OBED stretchers, 7 Antepartum beds, 10 labor beds, 2 LDOR rooms, and 2 LD PACU bays
• Patient ratios range from 1:2-4 in OBED and Antepartum depending on acuity, and 1:1-2 in LDU depending on acuity
• Uses bedside ultrasounds, dopplers, fetal monitors, infant warmers, OR equipment, labor beds, sterile vaginal tables, and glucometers
• EMR systems used include Meditech and GE CPN Centricity
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM on a 13-week assignment
• Required to work 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule period
• Floating required to the Antepartum Unit (APU)
• Unit may cancel up to 2 shifts per 13-week contract depending on census

Requirements

• Active RN license (TX or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, and NRP (American Academy of Pediatrics, Advanced 9th Edition)
• Minimum 2 complete years of LDU experience required, off of orientation
• Experience managing Magnesium Sulfate and Oxytocin drips required
• Insulin drip management experience preferred
• Skilled in sterile vaginal exams, FSE/IUPC placement, circulating cesarean sections, NSTs, and induction/augmentation procedures
• No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provide labor and delivery nursing care including fetal monitoring, medication drip titration, and cesarean section circulating support
• Dress code requires royal blue scrub tops and bottoms
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this travel position
• TCN (Transition Care Nursing of Neonates) experience is preferred but not required
• Candidates should demonstrate a flexible personality to fit the unit's team dynamic
• Must adhere to attendance policy and meet all scheduled shift commitments
