Description

American Traveler is hiring a Rehab RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring at least 1 year of recent rehab experience and TX or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Inpatient Rehab unit within a hospital setting
• 15-bed unit staffed with 18 team members
• Patient ratios of 5:1, with a maximum of 6:1
• Day and night shifts staffed with 1 charge nurse (full patient load), 2 RNs, and 1 CNA
• Shift schedule of 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 13-week assignment length
• Every other weekend and holiday coverage required
• On-call required only when hospital census is low
• Floating required to Med-Surg, Tele, Renal, Urology, Orthopedic, and Overflow units between Bay Area and DRMC hospitals (ICU excluded)
• Uses Meditech and Pyxis EMR systems
• Utilizes VS machines, transfer equipment (Hoyer lift, sliding boards), EKG, and bladder scanner

Requirements

• Active RN license (TX or Compact) required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent rehab nursing experience required
• Transfer training and EMR proficiency required for consideration
• Rehab experience and rehab scoring documentation experience preferred
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
• One professional reference required

Additional Information

• Perform patient transfers, bladder scans, dressing changes, and medication administration
• Follow unit guidelines including bedside report/handoff, hourly rounding, and bed alarm activation
• Work in a team-oriented environment that values initiative
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
