Description

American Traveler is hiring a Travel RN for the Operating Room, requiring a TX or compact RN license and at least 2 years of OR experience with orthopedic, general, urology, and GYN case exposure.

Details

• Work in the Operating Room (Surgery unit) of a hospital environment
• 10-bed unit with a staff of 54 including RNs, CSTs, first assists, PCTs, anesthesia techs, a supervisor, and director
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Multi-specialty equipment used
• EMR is Meditech, currently converting to Expanse
• 13-week assignment with a 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM shift schedule
• Night shift is on-call only
• On-call required including weekly rotations and one weekend per month
• No floating required

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in the Operating Room
• Experience in orthopedics, general, urology, and GYN surgical cases required
• ENT and vascular (non-cardiac) experience preferred
• Pediatric experience preferred
• BSN preferred
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
• One professional reference required for consideration
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Perform circulating and/or scrub duties for open, laparoscopic, and robotic general surgical cases such as appendectomies, cholecystectomies, and select bariatric procedures
• Assist with robotic orthopedic surgeries, total knee/hip replacements, and trauma orthopedic cases
• Support laparoscopic/robotic hysterectomies, tubal ligations, and emergent gynecological interventions
• Ideal candidates are team players with initiative who can help keep the surgical schedule moving
• Scrub attire must be cobalt blue
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible; no local candidates accepted
