Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Cardiovascular Surgical ICU position requiring one year of recent CSICU experience and an active NC or compact RN license.

Details

  • Work in a 12-bed Cardiovascular Surgical ICU (CSICU) within a hospital setting
  • Care for critically ill patients recovering from cardiac surgery, vascular surgery, and other intensive care interventions
  • Patient population ranges from young adults to geriatric patients
  • Staffing ratio is 1:1 for direct post-op recovery of open heart patients and 1:2 for general ICU patients
  • Day shift schedule from 7:00am to 7:00pm
  • Scheduled for 3 shifts per week (36 hours), 12-hour shifts
  • Every other weekend (EOW) work required
  • Every other holiday (EOH) coverage required
  • No on-call responsibilities

Requirements

  • Active RN license (NC or Compact) currently in hand
  • Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
  • ACLS certification required
  • Minimum one (1) year of recent CSICU experience required
  • Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing school required
  • BSN or MSN preferred

Additional Information

  • Deliver competent clinical nursing care in accordance with professional standards, reporting to the Nurse Manager/Director
  • Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process for patients with complex physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs
  • Perform bedside point-of-care testing as required by the patient care plan
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to evaluate patient care and promote continuity of care
  • Assess and anticipate discharge planning needs for patients and families
  • Participate in unit performance improvement activities and professional development
  • Promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment
