Description
American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Cardiovascular Surgical ICU position requiring one year of recent CSICU experience and an active NC or compact RN license.
Details
- Work in a 12-bed Cardiovascular Surgical ICU (CSICU) within a hospital setting
- Care for critically ill patients recovering from cardiac surgery, vascular surgery, and other intensive care interventions
- Patient population ranges from young adults to geriatric patients
- Staffing ratio is 1:1 for direct post-op recovery of open heart patients and 1:2 for general ICU patients
- Day shift schedule from 7:00am to 7:00pm
- Scheduled for 3 shifts per week (36 hours), 12-hour shifts
- Every other weekend (EOW) work required
- Every other holiday (EOH) coverage required
- No on-call responsibilities
Requirements
- Active RN license (NC or Compact) currently in hand
- Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
- ACLS certification required
- Minimum one (1) year of recent CSICU experience required
- Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing school required
- BSN or MSN preferred
Additional Information
- Deliver competent clinical nursing care in accordance with professional standards, reporting to the Nurse Manager/Director
- Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process for patients with complex physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs
- Perform bedside point-of-care testing as required by the patient care plan
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to evaluate patient care and promote continuity of care
- Assess and anticipate discharge planning needs for patients and families
- Participate in unit performance improvement activities and professional development
- Promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment
