Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a Level 1 trauma center night shift position requiring 2+ years of experience and CRT certification.

• This is a acute inpatient care setting at a Level 1 traumama center
• Adult patient population
• Number of treatments per day varies
• Uses EPIC EMR system
• Uses 980 ventilators and V60 BiPAP equipment
• Night shift schedule from 6:15 PM to 6:45 AM
• Every other weekend or more required if willing
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• No call or standby requirements
• No floating required
• 12-hour shifts over a 13-week assignment

Requirements

• currentSificationified Supportive support: ACLS,), Basic Life Support (BLS)
• ,S)advced Program Advanced Life Support (PALS) required
• Active State or Compact (NLC) licensure for the state of submission required
• License license required if applicable
• Driver's license must be submitted for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor reference from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor reference from within the last 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility
• Candidates must reside at least 60 miles from the facility

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive respiratory care across all hospital areas including medication delivery, emergency response, and intubation assistance
• Perform ventilator management for both invasive and non-invasive support
• Draw arterial blood gases and perform pulmonary hygiene and hyperinflation therapy
• Transport critically ill patients with artificial airways
• Conduct home oxygen assessments and coordination
• Assist with intubation procedures rather than performing independently
• Never work as the sole RT in-house
• Hospitalist or Intensivist coverage always available on-site
• Dress code consists of black pants with a wine-colored top
• Candidates must be in-state for orientation week, even if initial modules are completed remotely
• Hiring process includes a profile review followed by an interview with the unit manager
