Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist with 2+ years of acute care experience for a Level 1 trauma hospital day shift position.

Details

• trauma center hospital in an acute inpatient setting
• Respiratory Therapy department serving adult patients throughout the hospital
• Uses EPIC EMR
• Day shift schedule, 6:45am-7:15pm
• 12-hour shifts with every other weekend requirement, potential for more if willing
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• No call or standby call requirement
• No floating required
• Never the sole RT in-house
• Uses 980 ventilator and V60 equipment
• Hospitalist or Intensivist always in house

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) via NBRC
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required
• Colorado state license required if applicable
• Must be able to assist with intubation
• Experience with ventilator management (invasive and non-invasive), arterial blood gases, pulmonary hygiene, hyperinflation therapy, and medication delivery
• Experience with patient transport of critically ill patients with artificial airways
• Experience with home oxygen assessment and coordination
• Driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory therapy services across all areas of the hospital including emergency response and medication delivery
• Assist with intubation and manage both invasive and non-invasive ventilation
• Perform arterial blood gas draws, pulmonary hygiene, and hyperinflation therapy
• Transport critically ill patients with artificial airways
• Conduct home oxygen assessments and coordinate related care
• Dress code requires black pants and wine-colored top
• Work as part of a respiratory therapy team under unit management
• Clinicians must be in-state for orientation week, even if initial modules are completed remotely
• Candidates must reside at least 60 miles from the facility
• First-time travelers may be considered
