Description
American Traveler seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist with CCC-SLP certification and 1+ years of acute care experience for a 13-week acute inpatient and acute rehab assignment.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting with a Level 3 Trauma designation
- Speech Therapy department covering ICU, acute tower, and rehab unit
- Caseload of 8-10 patients per day with 3 SLPs on staff daily
- Common diagnoses include stroke, pneumonia, and sepsis
- Time is shared equally between acute inpatient and acute rehab units
- May float to a facility approximately 30 minutes away
- EPIC EMR system used for charting
- Schedule consists of four 10-hour day shifts, 0730-1800
- Traveler covers weekend shifts
- Holiday coverage required as needed
- SLP Manager/Supervisor present on each shift
- Rehab aides are staffed to support the department
Requirements
- Current CCC-SLP certification required
- Current BLS certification required
- Active state license required at time of submission (if applicable)
- Minimum 1 year of acute care experience required
- Must be competent in Video Fluoroscopic Swallow Study (VFSS)
- Rehab unit experience preferred
- EPIC EMR experience
- Valid driver's license required for consideration
- Two professional references required, including one supervisor reference from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor reference from within the last 3 years
Additional Information
- First-time travelers will be considered for this position
- Scrubs are permitted but must not match the color designated for other departments
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
- Permanent employees of the facility must wait one year before applying for a travel assignment
- Unit-specific orientation typically spans 2-3 days, with travelers working Monday through Friday 8-hour shifts during onboarding to accommodate the schedule
- No blocked scheduling or special scheduling requests will be accommodated
