Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level III NICU position requiring NRP, STABLE certifications, and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

• Work in a High Risk Level III NICU setting
• Care for neonates ranging from less than 24 weeks to over 34 weeks gestation
• Patient ratio of 1:3
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
• Attend high-risk deliveries as needed
• Cerner charting system experience preferred

Requirements

• Active RN license (TX or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, NRP, and STABLE required; PALS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, and central line care
• Experience with UAC and UVC placement and management
• Proficient in neonatal dosage calculations and administration of emergency medications
• Ventilator management experience including AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP
• Experience with high frequency ventilation, nitric oxide therapy, and bubble CPAP
• Skilled in therapeutic hypothermia and cooling blanket management
• Experience managing neonatal sepsis and infectious disease precautions
• Competent in phlebotomy and lumbar puncture assistance
• Two supervisor references from within the last 3 years of employment required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care to critically ill neonates including feeding support, thermoregulation, and developmental care
• Support families with patient/family teaching and breastfeeding support
• Assist with high-risk deliveries and neonatal resuscitation
• Manage respiratory conditions including respiratory distress syndrome and meconium aspiration
• Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with automatic cancellation for positive results
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered for this position
