Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level III NICU position requiring NRP, STABLE certifications, and prior travel nursing experience.
Details
- Work in a High Risk Level III NICU setting
- Care for neonates ranging from less than 24 weeks to over 34 weeks gestation
- Patient ratio of 1:3
- Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
- Attend high-risk deliveries as needed
- Cerner charting system experience preferred
Requirements
- Active RN license (TX or Compact) currently in hand
- Current certifications: BLS, NRP, and STABLE required; PALS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, and central line care
- Experience with UAC and UVC placement and management
- Proficient in neonatal dosage calculations and administration of emergency medications
- Ventilator management experience including AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP
- Experience with high frequency ventilation, nitric oxide therapy, and bubble CPAP
- Skilled in therapeutic hypothermia and cooling blanket management
- Experience managing neonatal sepsis and infectious disease precautions
- Competent in phlebotomy and lumbar puncture assistance
- Two supervisor references from within the last 3 years of employment required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive care to critically ill neonates including feeding support, thermoregulation, and developmental care
- Support families with patient/family teaching and breastfeeding support
- Assist with high-risk deliveries and neonatal resuscitation
- Manage respiratory conditions including respiratory distress syndrome and meconium aspiration
- Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with automatic cancellation for positive results
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered for this position
