Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level III NICU position requiring NRP, STABLE certification, and previous travel nursing experience.

- >High Risk Level III NICU setting
- Care for neonates ranging from <24-28 weeks to >34 weeks gestation
- Patient ratio of 1:3
- Night shift, 4x12 hours, 19:00-7:00
- 48 hours/week preferred, 36 hours/week will be considered
- Cerner charting experience preferred
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required
- Current certifications: BLS, NRP, and STABLE required; PALS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, and UAC/UVC placement
- Experience with neonatal dosage calculations and administration of anti-seizure medications, antibiotics, vasopressors, steroids, and surfactants
- Proficient in ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP), high frequency ventilation, and nitric oxide therapy
- Experience with therapeutic hypothermia (cooling blanket) and neonatal abstinence syndrome care
Additional Information
- Attend high-risk deliveries and provide care for critically ill neonates
- Provide respiratory support including bubble CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and suctioning (ETT, NT)
- Manage complex GI care including NEC, tube feedings, and breastfeeding support
- Perform APGAR scoring, developmental care, and patient/family teaching
- Assist with procedures such as lumbar punctures and manage chest tubes as needed
- Provide care for neonatal sepsis and infectious disease precautions using appropriate PPE
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
- Facility conducts its own mandatory drug screening upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with automatic cancellation for positive results
