Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Float position requiring 2+ years of MS/Tele experience and an active SC or compact RN license.

Details

• Med/Surg Float position within a community hospital setting
• Float to other MS/Tele units as needed based on staffing needs
• Treats adult patients with medical, surgical, and cardiac diagnoses
• Patient to nurse ratio of 1:6 with flexing up to 1:7 as needed
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Self scheduling and blocked scheduling permitted
• Uses Cerner EMR
• RN expected to perform primary IV skills while RT covers specialty IV
• On-unit telemetry monitoring required

Additional Information

• Active SC RN license or compact license required in hand at time of submission
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele experience required
• Float pool experience preferred
• PCU/Step Down experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Community hospital experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Black scrubs required
• No first-time travelers considered for this float position
• No radius restriction for this position
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel candidates
• Facility prefers no RTO for any holidays, though a single holiday request may be considered
• Previous employees must have a break in service of at least 1 year before returning
• Candidates may float within the hospital system or to nearby affiliate facilities
