Description

American Traveler is hiring a Medical Surgical RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of experience and a TX or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Medical Surgical unit of a hospital setting
• Patient population includes MS/Tele and respiratory cases
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Epic charting system required

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills
• Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias
• Experience managing cardiac drips (no titration)
• Non-invasive airway management skills
• IV therapy and phlebotomy skills
• Peripheral line care and management experience
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE protocols

Additional Information

• Provide medical surgical nursing care including cardiac monitoring and respiratory support
• Manage medication administration and cardiac drips
• Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care
• Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols as needed
• Must reside outside of the following Texas counties to be eligible: Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Former permanent staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of requested time off will be auto-approved, and no time off is permitted during the first week of orientation
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this position
